Meet the Ginger Cove Board of Directors
Ginger Cove is owned and operated by Annapolis Life Care, Inc., a not-for-profit organization, with its own elected, volunteer Board of Directors, four of whom are residents. Directors serve without compensation for the good of the community, and neither they nor any person involved in the management of Ginger Cove has any proprietary interest in the community. The Board currently consists of 15 directors whose expertise lies in such areas as senior housing, real estate, law, banking, financial services, healthcare, and management.

Ray Fisher
Chief Executive Officer
At Ginger Cove, Ray steers the leadership team and collaborates closely with the Board of Directors to ensure the community’s success and longevity. He appreciates the camaraderie with the staff and the warm community spirit of Ginger Cove. Ray is also known for bringing his four-legged friend, Ruby, along with him to work every day, adding a personal touch to his professional environment.
He is also recognized for his academic roles as an adjunct professor at Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Baltimore and as a co-instructor at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
Bill Gibson
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Bill has over 30 years of experience with both public accounting firms and private companies. For the last 20 years, Bill’s professional career has been in financial management, predominantly with not-for-profit organizations in the senior living space, including retirement communities and skilled nursing communities.
At Ginger Cove, one of Bill’s primary responsibilities is to present complex financial matters in a way that stakeholders can easily understand. He values teamwork and working collaboratively with others.
A lifelong resident of Northern Anne Arundel County, Bill enjoys biking, spending time on the Jersey Shore with family, church activities, and following the Baltimore Orioles.

Phyllis Johns Boulden
Licensed Nursing Home Administrator/Chief Operating Officer
Phyllis began her career as Director of Resident Services, moved on to spearhead the opening of The Haven (Ginger Cove’s first assisted living community), and later served as the Director of Apartment Support before taking on her role as Nursing Home Administrator for the community.
Her tenure at Ginger Cove is marked by a strong commitment to listening to residents and assisting them in navigating their retirement years with joy and satisfaction. Phyllis takes pride in her ability to work towards resolutions in challenging situations, ensuring the well-being of residents and the smooth operation of the community. Her dedication to the residents and her enjoyment of her role are central to her long-standing service at Ginger Cove.

Mary Beth Holly
Director of Finance
As Director of Finance, Mary Beth, brings a wealth of experience to this position, earned from a diverse career. She has a rich background in various sectors, including private industry, the federal government, and higher education.
At Ginger Cove, Mary Beth oversees the financial operations. Her responsibilities are varied, including ensuring the accuracy of financial reports, tracking cash flow, strategic financial planning, and analyzing the company’s financial health.
Mary Beth values the relationships she has developed over her 20 years at Ginger Cove, and especially the support Ginger Cove provided in growing her career. Outside of work, Mary Beth is a member of Capital Carillon, a premier community handbell ensemble.

Kathy Lavin
Sales and Marketing Associate
Kathy’s commitment to helping clients envision their future in the community and her ability to connect with people are key to her success in guiding clients to make informed decisions about their next home.
The aspect of her work at Ginger Cove that Kathy treasures the most is the community’s warm, welcoming atmosphere, coupled with the genuine friendliness of both staff and residents. Her passion for her work is evident in the positive experiences of those who choose to make Ginger Cove their home.

John Beyer
Director of Social Work and Wellness

As the Director of Social Work and Wellness at Ginger Cove, he leads a team of dedicated professionals who provide residents comprehensive psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual support. A leader in managing transitions, John adeptly assists residents through the continuum of care. His dedication to personal involvement with residents extends to addressing individual issues and enhancing community engagement. He is instrumental in creating initiatives that promote community cohesiveness and
compassion.
Outside of Ginger Cove, John serves as the clinical social work representative on the Maryland State Board of Nursing Home Administrators and co-teaches a class on aging with his wife at Howard Community College.

Sherry Gilde
Director of Sales and Marketing
The Director of Sales and Marketing at Ginger Cove, Sherry brings an extensive 30-year career in senior living to her role. She began her journey as a receptionist in an assisted living community and, through dedication and passion, rose to the role of Director of Marketing. Sherry’s profound commitment to Alzheimer’s and dementia care led her to specialize in this field for 18 years until the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic prompted a change in her path. She then found Ginger Cove.
At Ginger Cove, Sherry values the opportunity to work directly with residents, building relationships to help them make their own decisions about living arrangements, a change she finds incredibly rewarding compared to her previous experiences. Sherry’s knowledge and love for Ginger Cove contributes to a unique customer service experience. Outside of her professional life, Sherry cherishes time with her husband, family, and seven grandchildren.

Jason Petrillo
Director of Facilities
Jason leads a team of 10 technicians and engineers who ensure that residents’ needs are addressed promptly and professionally, as well as 24/7 security. He has dedicated himself to delivering unparalleled customer service, instilling confidence in residents about the meticulous care of their community. Collaborating with a team of like-minded professionals, Jason is motivated by the shared goal of seeing Ginger Cove thrive.
Outside of Ginger Cove, Jason can be found officiating recreational flag football games.

Hannah Gourley
Move In Coordinator
She expertly assists new residents in tailoring their private spaces to their unique tastes.
Her role is pivotal in ensuring that each apartment reflects the individuality and comfort of those who call it home. She takes great satisfaction in seeing residents thrive in their new homes, reflecting the community’s positive spirit.
Hannah’s interest in senior living was sparked while spending time with her grandmother in her senior living community.

Larry Snowberger
Director Of Culinary Services
Larry’s nearly four-decade tenure in the hospitality industry, focusing on senior living for the last 28 years, showcases his diverse experience and steadfast dedication. His career has spanned various roles, including Dining Director, Regional Director of Operations, Regional Chef, and Regional Culinary Operations Trainer, as well as foundational positions like cook and dishwasher. This breadth of experience underpins his belief in the importance of every role in achieving Ginger Cove’s high service standards.
As the Director of Culinary Services, Larry takes pride in ensuring that Ginger Cove residents have delicious and nutritious meals across all levels of care. He leads a committed team consisting of Chefs, Cooks, Dietary Aides, Waitstaff, Supervisors, a Dietitian, and Managers, all united by a values statement: “We are ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen.”
Larry’s favorite aspect of his work at Ginger Cove is the daily interaction with residents and staff, where smiles are plentiful and every day brings a new story. His passion for creating a vibrant dining experience is a testament to his lifelong commitment to service in the senior living community.
Maseray Bayoh
Director of Nursing
Maseray serves as the Director of Nursing at Ginger Cove, bringing 15 years of experience in long-term care to her leadership role. Equipped with a master’s degree in nursing and four years as a Nurse Practitioner, she is the Clinical Nurse Supervisor of the Continuing Care Retirement Community.
Maseray is responsible for maintaining clinical excellence, ensuring that Ginger Cove adheres to CMS and State Regulations with a strong emphasis on resident safety and satisfaction. Her expertise and dedication are central to providing top-tier nursing care and upholding the high standards of resident service at Ginger Cove in independent living, assisted living, memory care, and health care.
Her commitment to the residents and collaboration with an exceptional team of healthcare professionals are aspects of her work that she cherishes.

Nancy Laur Chalkley
Director of Resident Services
In her current role, Nancy oversees a team dedicated to enriching the lives of Ginger Cove independent living residents. She and her team create a dynamic environment that nurtures social, physical, and intellectual vibrancy through diverse programs. These include engaging entertainment and concerts, thought-provoking guest speakers, a variety of fitness classes tailored for all levels, and opportunities for technology education. Additionally, Nancy has built relationships with local schools to foster intergenerational engagement, learning, and enjoyment between residents and students from elementary schools, high schools and colleges.
Nancy is passionate about working with residents to help them achieve the retirement lifestyle they have envisioned — one that promotes their independence, builds community, and is deeply fulfilling. Her leadership is instrumental in ensuring that the lifestyle opportunities at Ginger Cove support an active and engaging community life.

Marty Sadler
Assisted Living Manager
Marty oversees the assisted living buildings at Ginger Cove, including The Haven and The Heritage. Marty’s unwavering commitment extends beyond management; she serves as a compassionate advocate for residents and their families during the transition to a higher level of care. By fostering strong partnerships with residents, family members, and the clinical team, Marty ensures that The Haven and The Heritage consistently deliver the highest quality of care.
In addition to her managerial role, Marty acts as the primary representative for those considering Ginger Cove as an assisted living community for their loved ones.
Her personal connection to Ginger Cove runs deep, as she was recommended to the community after experiencing the loss of her father many years ago. Being part of this community has profoundly and positively impacted her life in ways she couldn’t have imagined. Prior to her tenure at Ginger Cove, Marty co-owned a marine fastener business with her husband.

Patty Kerrigan
Director of Human Resources
Patty is a certified professional whose extensive expertise encompasses all aspects of HR operations, including recruitment, retention, employee relations, benefits management, and corporate compliance; and whose leadership ensures the implementation of effective policies, the promotion of employee well-being and creates a workplace that promotes collaboration, innovation and success.
Ginger Cove’s Values include staff excellence, and Patty’s approach to inclusivity, continuous learning and open communication helps to unlock the potential of our team members and aligns with our company’s vision of a commitment to Quality.
Patty also has a passion for the senior adults, so working with HR in a senior living community is a perfect match. In her free time, Patty values spending time with her family and enjoys being outdoors.

JoAnn Rosario Lamptey
Director of Nursing
JoAnn Rosario Lamptey joined Ginger Cove as the Director of Nursing with over 20 years of Nursing experience beginning when she was 18 years old as a Certified Nurse Assistant. She attended American International College in her hometown of Springfield, MA where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2009 with a double major in Sociology and minor in Psychology.
In Massachusetts she worked at a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital for over 10 years where she navigated through various roles gaining nursing knowledge as a Student Nurse, Chronic Vent Unit Charge Nurse, Wound Care Coordinator, House Supervisor and Staff Development Nurse Educator. In 2016, JoAnn relocated to Maryland and began her journey specializing in Geriatrics and the care continuum of Life Plan Retirement Communities serving in various capacities including Staff Development, Case Manager/Delegating Nurse for Assisted Living, Assistant Director, and Director of Nursing.
She is a member of the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration (NADONA) where she is board certified as an Infection Preventionist and serves as a member of the NADONA Infection Preventionist Committee. In 2018, she completed her certification in Law and Leadership in Healthcare Administration from Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
JoAnn has a passion and nurturing approach when leading nursing teams and caring for seniors in their home. She enjoys sharing experiences and supporting other individual’s navigation through the journey of life. JoAnn is a mother of three and lives in Pasadena, MD with her husband Gabriel.

Richard Creek
Director of Environmental Services
Under his leadership, his team ensures that the residents’ apartments and common areas are not just clean but also comfortable and welcoming. They also efficiently manage the laundry services, contributing significantly to the quality of daily life at Ginger Cove. Richard takes immense pride in his team and their service to the residents.
Richard, also affectionately known as “Huggs,” says the best part of his job is the opportunity to support the residents and staff, whom he considers his extended family. His philosophy that “Hugg is love, but my loyalty is everything” underscores his deep commitment to the community he serves.

Maresa Henry
Sales & Marketing Associate
Maresa, our dedicated Sales and Marketing Associate, brings over 15 years of experience in home care, skilled nursing, assisted living and memory care to Ginger Cove. Maresa has her bachelor’s degree in Business & Marketing from Hood College.
Maresa’s role includes welcoming and interacting with prospective residents, and showcasing the community’s amenities and lifestyle. In collaboration with the Sales & Marketing Director and Move-In Coordinator, she supports future residents throughout the entire move-in process.
She finds it inspiring to be surrounded by such a positive and active community and loves witnessing the vibrant lifestyle of Ginger Cove residents.
