2025 was a very full and eventful year for Ginger Cove, an active adult community located on beautiful Gingerville Creek! From recognitions and changes in leadership to ongoing traditions, celebrations, social activities and special events, this year is one that won’t soon be forgotten. Here is a quick year in review!
In January, Ginger Cove, Annapolis’ premier Life-Care Community, was honored to be named to Newsweek’s “America’s Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities 2025” list. The list recognizes the top 300 CCRCs in the United States out of more than 2,000 communities nationwide.
February brought a change of leadership as the CEO of the Ginger Cove Board of Directors, Ray Fisher, retired. Mr. Fisher made a significant and lasting impact on the community, and we are grateful for his leadership and service. Charles “Chip” Warner has taken over the reins and brings many years of experience to his new role. He is already making meaningful contributions as he leads us forward.
An exciting cross-generational tradition continued in March as the Ginger Cove Croquet Team took on the St. John’s College Johnnies and the U.S. Naval Academy Midshipman to help them prepare for their friendly face-off in the Annapolis Cup.
April and May ushered in beautiful spring weather and so much more. Residents celebrated our gorgeous new blooms on Daffodil Day and were treated to jazz performances and a concert by their very own Ginger Cove Choir. A Cinco de Mayo Pop-Up-Party kicked off May with signature drinks, tasty bites and festive music and residents gathered for mint juleps in the Bugeye Bar as they cheered on their favorites in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes. May wrapped up with the National Senior Health and Fitness Day Expo where residents explored vendors, received free health screenings and enjoyed games and raffles.
In June, residents commemorated Flag Day with a ceremony and singalong. In July they celebrated the birthday of the United States at the Independence Day holiday buffet and enjoyed a festive Christmas in July event complete with frozen drinks, music and special guest. August wrapped up the summer with the Ginger Cove 37th anniversary party.
Residents put on their sleuthing hats in September at the Murder Mystery Event and cut loose at the Fall Dance. In October, a Haunted Happy Hour kicked off spooky season with ghoulish concoctions.
November brought the opportunity to honor veterans at a special Veterans Day ceremony and gather for the Thanksgiving service. We kicked off the holiday season with a sparkle at the annual tree lighting, and hosted a holiday bazaar where residents, team members and guest could shop for gifts, theme baskets, handmade items and delicious baked goods.
This month we are looking forward to celebrating an evening of elevated dining and dancing at the Ginger Cove Gala, gathering for a cozy Christmas Eve by the fire and ringing in 2026 at the New Year’s Eve Party.
Giving Thanks and Looking Forward to a Vibrant and Healthy New Year Ahead
As we reflect on all of the celebrations, special events, friendships and memories made in 2025, we are thankful for our amazing community and the joy and laughter we have shared throughout the year. We look forward to continuing to grow together, welcoming new experiences and embracing all that life has to offer.
