The dining experience at Ginger Cove is everything a great meal should be. It feels private, yet it connects people, both familiar and new. It is comforting, but it also excites with exotic flavors and experiences. It is dining at home, but the food and service are what you would expect from the finest restaurants in Annapolis and beyond.
Food is an extension of the many travels and experiences of the residents of Ginger Cove and a reflection of the fresh ingredients found around Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay. It’s also an expression of the art and skill of the chef and kitchen staff, and table service that embodies the Ginger Cove commitment to creating daily moments of joy.
Different Dining Areas Create Unique Experiences
Dining isn’t just central to health at Ginger Cove – it’s also the physical center of the community. The lobby flows into a comfortable gathering and sitting area, ideal for casual meals or drinks with friends and family. Throughout the day, this is a gathering spot for conversations, reading or the steady stream of residents passing along the way.
A few steps further, the spacious Bugeye Bar sits opposite a wall of windows with views of the lush green grounds or Gingerville Creek, depending on the season. This is the place to be for daily happy hours, grabbing a drink and snack after a day at the museum or on the water, and spending time catching up with neighbors and friends.
The bar leads naturally into the elegant, comfortable Chesapeake Dining Room, with the same great views and a spacious layout. The dining room is a popular spot every night, thanks in large part to Senior Executive Chef Brandon’s menu featuring resident favorites made with local, fresh ingredients. He can always be found walking the room in between shifts in the kitchen, making sure each resident is enjoying their meal.
That same attention goes into the dining experience in the Skipjack Dining Room, another venue where residents grab dishes and sandwiches from a rotating menu of standards and specials. Amazing food is always close and convenient.
The Right Ingredients to a Great Meal
Just like a great dish is the sum of its ingredients, a first-class dining experience is the sum of everyone involved. To make that possible, each resident of Ginger Cove has a voice in what goes on the menu through the Dining Services Committee. Each building in the community holds regular meetings to discuss how to make dining experiences special, and resident representatives share that feedback with dining and kitchen staff. Those representatives then share the updates on menu items and dining experiences back to the people in their buildings to keep everyone informed on what to expect. Which all proves that too many cooks do make the meal better!
